리더연구 및 선도연구센터로 세계 최고 수준 기초연구 육성

과학기술정보통신부는 6월부터 2023년까지 기초연구사업을 위해 총 5183개의 과제를 모은 후, 그중 선발된 1120개의 과제를 발표하였습니다. 이번에 선발된 과제는 국내 최고 수준의 연구자를 지원하는 대표적인 개인&집단 기초연구사업인 리더연구와 선도연구센터, 세종과학펠로우십, 기본연구, 기초연구실 등의 신규 과제로 구성되어 있습니다. 선발된 과제는 총 7개의 리더연구, 25개의 선도연구센터, 50개의 세종과학펠로우십, 924개의 기본연구 및 114개의 기초연구실로 분류되며, 이를 통해 2023년까지 총 1221억 원의 연구비가 지원될 예정입니다. 이번 기초연구사업의 선발된 과제들은 다양한 분야와 관련된 것으로, 전산과학, 생명과학, 공학, 물리학, 화학 등 다양한 분야에서의 연구를 포함하고 있습니다. 이러한 연구는 국가 경쟁력의 원천인 과학적 기초를 제공하여, 장기적으로 다양한 분야에 응용되며 신산업 창출 및 국민 삶의 질 향상에 기여할 것으로 예상됩니다. 이번 기초연구사업의 발표는 국가의 과학기술발전을 위한 중요한 계획 중 하나로, 국내 최고 수준의 연구자들에게 지속적인 지원을 제공하며, 미래 산업과 기술 발전에 대한 국가적 관심을 높이는 계기가 되기도 합니다. 이는 국가적 관점에서 매우 긍정적인 처리이며, 국민들의 기대와 관심이 높아질 것으로 보입니다.

The Ministry of Science and ICT has collected a total of 5,183 projects for basic research projects from June to 2023, and announced 1,120 selected projects. The selected projects consist of representative individual and group basic research projects that support top-class researchers in Korea, including leader research, advanced research centers, Sejong Science Fellowships, basic research, and basic research laboratories. The selected projects are categorized into seven leader projects, 25 advanced research centers, 50 Sejong Science Fellowships, 924 basic research, and 114 basic research laboratories, with a total research budget of KRW 122.1 billion until 2023. The selected projects for this basic research project are related to various fields, including computer science, life science, engineering, physics, chemistry, and more. These studies are expected to provide the scientific foundation that is the source of national competitiveness, and will be applied to various fields in the long run, contributing to the creation of new industries and improving the quality of life for the people. The announcement of this basic research project is one of the important plans for the development of science and technology in the country, providing continuous support to the top researchers in Korea and raising national interest in future industries and technological development.
